The essay of Anna Imponente is a personal memory of Augusta Monferini and her activity as curator and then director of the Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna in Rome (GNAM) between the 1980s and the 1990s. The author tells about Augusta Monferini’s personal and professional encounters, her professional style, her work for the implementation of heritage, her main initiative and exhibitions dedicated to the great protagonists of Italian and international art of the twentieth century.
